The Ladakh is a
Himalayan state located at the northern tip of India. If
you decide to fly there, landing in Leh - its 4000 m high
capital - it will be quite a memorable experience.
Geographically it is described as a high altitude desert.
Sparsely populated and filled with moon-liked barren
landscapes, it is not difficult to believe it.
Historically, it has a long Buddhist tradition which gives
it close cultural connections with neighbouring Tibet, and
it counts numerous beautiful and welcoming monasteries,
perched and little hills, dominating vast landscapes.
There you will find intensely blue skies, moments of peace
and serenety, amazing colours, rivers for white-water
rafting, a multitude of paths for exciting trekkings and
even some luxury campings if it’s what you’re looking for.
You’ll discover the beautiful traditional Ladakhi houses,
visit remote and mysterious Buddhist temples, and above all
you will be charmed by the friendly and peaceful Ladakhi
people.
